How We Fund

TERG funds individual learners directly. Support can include money grants, books, laptops, learning aids or a combination of approved educational resources.

Special Education Needs

Accessible books, assistive tools and learning aids. Recommendation letters are not required.

Eligibility

  • Apply as an individual learner living in the UK or Africa.
  • Request support for an educational purpose.
  • Demonstrate your need, goals and how the support will be used.
  • For a learner under 18, a parent or guardian must be involved.

Eligibility does not guarantee an award. Decisions depend on available funding and the review of each application.

When applications open

  1. Create an applicant account using your email.
  2. Follow the emailed link to set your password.
  3. Choose your grant category and support type.
  4. Explain your need and provide a budget and required documents.
  5. Submit the application or save a draft to finish later.
  6. Follow progress in your applicant dashboard.

What you will need

Identification, proof of enrolment or admission, a supporting statement and a budget or resource breakdown. Other documents depend on your educational stage. SEN documentation is optional, and recommendation letters are not required for SEN applications. Maximum file size: 10 MB per file.

How applications are reviewed

The team considers educational need, commitment, the likely benefit of the support, whether the request is appropriate and the funding available. A nomination does not guarantee a grant.

What is the grant range?

The current grant range is shown above. Requests are in US dollars.

When will I receive a decision?

Applications are reviewed quarterly. The current dates are shown above. Decisions are normally communicated within two weeks after review.

Are recommendation letters required for SEN?

No. The recommendation upload is hidden for SEN applications.

Can I apply for a child?

Yes. A parent or guardian must provide the required consent and details.

Can I save an unfinished application?

When applications open, signed-in applicants can save a draft in their dashboard. Documents already saved remain with the draft.

Is funding guaranteed?

No. Awards depend on review outcomes and available funding.
